Efficient heat recovery instead of heat accumulation
Harm caused by heat accumulation:

Seeing that warm air has a lower densitiy of molecules and therefore a lower mass per unit area than cold air, it will always rise upwards like a balloon filled with helium. The air then builds up right underneath the ceiling in closed living and office rooms. Cold air on the other hand accumulates at ground level, causing something that can be described as heat build-up
. The warm and cosy temperatures rise above our heads – unused and wasted - Whereas around our feet and torso there is a cold and uncomfortable atmosphere.
In storage and production facilities
air layering can cause considerable damage of goods. Products that are susceptible to temperature, like fresh foodstuffs and oxidising metals experience damage quickly due to unfavourable heat distribution and high humidity, in the worst case they become non-saleable.

Ever-growing prices for energy should be reason enough to rethink, seeing that heat recovery technology keeps a lid on those very expenses. The heat inside the used air indoors is extracted and returned either through a centralised or decentralised system. The warmth that is already present is simply recovered, rendering continuous heating redundant. Good for you and your wallet!

Decentralised heat recovery

is vital in closed rooms to ensure quality of air and prevents possible damage due to humidity and mould. As long as you are rely on natural ventilation by opening windows in old, not yet renovated buildings, heat escapes to the outside – costing a pretty penny and is not ecologically justifiable in this day and age.
A decentralised ventilation system
is a brilliant alternative. It is installed exclusively in rooms that experience a lot of moisture. The system is set up with little effort and does not require too much constructional alteration, making them a good option both in newly built houses and as a means of support of existing heating and ventilation system in old building.
The room in question is supplied with fresh air from outdoors through a small duct in the house wall, e.g. near the window. Otherwise the duct can be attached to an exhaust shaft. A powerful fan extracts used and humid air by creating negative pressure and transports it to the outside through the ventilation shaft or duct. Incoming fresh air is supplied the same way.
Decentralised ventilation systems with heat recovering units
can collect between 70 to 75 percent of the heating energy inside the used air and return it to the same room! There are two different functional modes
Supply and exhaust air stream at the same time, the heat inside the extracted air is transferred directly to the incoming air by a plate heat exchanger, for instance.
Regenerators (short-term heat accumulator)
In ventilation systems with alternating supply and exhaust air a heat store, e.g. ceramic element, is warmed up during the extraction phase. The material has an outstanding temperature endurance so that incoming air is heated up.
A tip for maintenance:
Take costs for frequent cleaning and maintenance work into account! Professional checks and replacement of the filters (if need be) in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines are important to prevent contamination of the ventilation system. Pay attention to the recommended specifications when purchasing new filter units. Coarse, medium and fine particle filters are available on the market, and they must be compatible with your system. Fresh air filters remove pollen and other allergens from the incoming supply. Extractor filters protect the device against impurities such as dust, etc. Improper use can cause the system to clog up and lead to the growth of mould. Furthermore it is essential to make sure possible condensate will not drain off directly on the building envelope before installing the air ducts. Special grilles can be added in this situation to avoid unnecessary damage of the building material.
Centralised heat recovery

is the way to go in this situation, its efficiency is unbeatable! It takes over supply and extraction of breathing air in all rooms permanently and saves energy in the process. The centralised ventilation system
is installed in a room where it is easily accessible, e.g. the cellar, the attic or a storage room. From there it is able to extract the used indoor air evenly from all rooms, filters the air and returns it together with fresh supply air with a more improved quality. The used air is transported to the outside through a duct in the roof where 90 to 95 percent
of heat is recovered from the airflow and passed on to the supply. The recovery is done by a big central heat exchanger, the preheating recuperators
or the short-term storage regenerators
Stuffy, muggy indoor air usually measures about 20°C as it has had enough time to heat up by itself. In the shape of an airflow it is driven past the incoming supply flow, for instance through a cross-flow heat exchanger, thus passing on the heat. A major part of the heat in the extracted air is transferred to the fresh supply. Alternatively, a temperary storage passes on the heat: The extracted air gives off its heat when it leaves the building, later this heat is picked up by the incoming airflow.
As quite a few constructional alternations
need to be done to implement a centralised ventilation system, it has to be planned by a professional architect or energy consultant. Only then a sufficient air change is guaranteed in all rooms. The ventilation shafts should be layed in a way that provides easy access for maintenance. The amount of maintenance
required in a centralised system can be rather extensive, because air filters need to be replaced on a regular basis to ensure cleanness of the indoor air. However, the effort is worth the trouble, the enormous energy savings redeem the initial costs quickly and once the system has been implemented completely it will last decades when maintained by a professional.

The TDA system combines your heating system with a ceiling fan in one big cycle
that is automatically controlled by sensors. These TDA ceiling fans fall in the category “decentralised“ too and offer various benefits that make the best of your current heating system! They operate by making use of thermodynamics
by circulating air in the environment, generating an exchange of energy. The warm layer of air underneath the ceiling forced down to the ground and spread evenly across the room. The temperature of the upper layer then blends with the cooler layer on the ground. The heat transferring process is finished once the entire air in the room has reached a homogenous temperature. This method is very efficient, saving expenses when used in large buildings and hangars!
The taller the room or building, the more heating costs can be saved
- as much as 30%! Even in a heat insulated building the heating load can be reduced by more than 20%. Investing in a TDA model
pays off quickly due to the low acquisition costs. Seeing that fans consume only a minimum of power, the operational costs reach less than 5% of the saved heating costs on average.
Gas, fuel, geothermal energy or solar panels – TDA fans can be combined with any type of heating system without much constructional alteration or effort. Another plus is the use during summer where the rotating blades provide cooling by circulating the otherwise hot stagnant air. Switching back from summer to winter mode is done by a central controller unit.
In professional environments, e.g. in assembly hangars, several fans have to be operated at the same time to achieve optimum results. For instance, a 1000m2

a fully automated control of the TDA ceiling fans via thermostats in domestic and professional environments. The sensors inside two temperature detectors constantly monitor the temperature difference between the ceiling and the floor and even it out whenever it is required. This allows you to experience maximum comfort in the room. The basic TDA control 6 takes measurements about once in a minute and regulates the rotation speed of the fan blades. The best part is: You do not have to move a single muscle to achieve results. Once the desired room temperature is reached the fans switch off automatically.
Switch cabinet cooling
Any place with an electric current is bound to experience energy conversion into heat. Switch cabinets house particularly many live wires, and high temperatures drastically shortens the life span of semiconductors. It the inside of the cabinet gets too hot, serious damage on the electrics and cable ducts is almost guaranteed. Insufficient air circulation and the resulting humidity due to accumulated heat only speed up this process. For that reason the warm air inside the cabinet needs to be extracted to the outside.
The method of heat release depends on the construction of the control cabinet. There open, permeable and closed types that prevent the automatic air exchange with the ambient air. A natural heat release (passive climatisation) through simple air inlets on the housing is not enough in most cases. If the cabinet is standing next to a wall, the natural release is slowed down further.
Our professional heat removal units protect your switch board against overheating. A fan sucks in the warm air on the inside and transports it away through an exhaust grille on the upper portion of the cabinet. Potential condensed water can exit through openings in the sealing cap. Fresh, cool air should be supplied from the outside. If the temperature of the ambient air in the room is not much different from the air inside the cabinet, a separate ventilation unit can cool down the air to a sufficient level.
Careful: The IP rating of the cabinets is a crucial factor when it comes to choosing the right cooling and ventilation ducts. Our fans are protected against solid foreign objects, dust and splashing water. We recommend adding a thermostat with indicator light for more convenience and easier handling.
